Rishabh Pant has been picked as a replacement for Dinesh Karthik in the ongoing Super 4 India vs Pakistan match. Pant was not selected in the starting lineup of the first India-Pakistan match of the tournament, which led to fans criticizing India’s team selection. After ace allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury, India needed a left-handed batter in its ranks, and that is believed to be the main reason why Pant was chosen in the lineup ahead of Karthik.

With Jadeja out, India needed a finisher in the middle order, and Deepak Hooda, who plays for the IPL outfit Lucknow Super Giants, has been included in the lineup to fulfil the role.
