Running back Austin Ekeler scored two touchdowns for the Los Angeles Chargers as they strolled past the Indianapolis Colts in the Week 16 match up at the Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday night and kept alive their qualification chances for the playoff.

Ekeler starred for the visitors as he scored two touchdowns for 67 yards and propelled the Chargers to a clean victory.

The two sides playing in the last match of Week 16 were also playing their final game of 2022. Star quarterback Justin Herbert also starred for the Chargers as he caught 24 balls off 31 attempts and was intercepted once for 235 yards. The home side struggled with their offense yet again as quarterback Nick Foles was widely criticized for coming a cropper. Quarterback Matt Ryan was benched after a few disappointing performances.

The battle was also a huge psychological test for the Colts as fans and critics were both eager to see how the team would recover from a morale-shattering 36-39 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in their Week 15 clash.

The Vikings had scripted the greatest comeback in NFL history by bouncing back from a 0-33 deficit at half-time to tie 36-36 before edging out the Colts 39-36 in overtime. The Colts answered in the negative, failing to score in double digits.

The victory greatly enhances the qualification chances of Brandon Staley’s men, who completed a hat-trick of wins after having beaten the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans respectively in their previous two matches. The Chargers next take on the defending champions Los Angeles Rams before playing the Denver Broncos in their final match of the NFL 2022 season.
