The Indian Premier League has its curtains down and we have
got a new champion. The Chennai Super Kings beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by
27 runs
to lift their fourth IPL title at the Dubai International Stadium on
Friday.

From 91 for no loss in the 11th over, KKR slumped to 125 for
8 in the 17th over in a dramatic batting collapse to lose the final. For CSK,
Shardul Thakur took three wickets while Ravindra Jadeja and Josh Hazlewood got
two each.

This win from MS Dhoni-led CSK is a dramatic turnaround from
the wooden spoon they got from last season when the Men in Yellow finished
bottom of the points table to miss the playoffs for the first time in their
history.

From bottom to straight back on the top, this IPL has been a
great ride for CSK. They showed the world why they are the most consistent team
to ever play the IPL.

Social media was abuzz after this dramatic win and
everybody, from former cricketers to the fans were full of praises for the Men
in Yellow.

“After the setback last season, not many gave @ChennaiIPL a chance
this year. But it is that ability of @msdhoni to convert adversity into
opportunity that Chennai played outstanding cricket and are deserving champions,”
former Indian bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad said.

“Brilliant is just not the word to describe @ChennaiIPL,
no.4 and well deserved,” K Srikanth tweeted.

“Congrats to @chennaiipl a great win. What can you say about
this man MS Dhoni,” Australian opener David Warner tweeted.

“Congratulations on A fantastic IPL for the experienced and
settled @ChennaiIPL team. @KKRiders great IPL and well played throughout. Great
final indeed !,” Angelo Mathews said.

KKR were chasing their third IPL title but just could not
cross the finish line against a brilliant CSK.
