Denver Broncos wide receiver Melvin Gordon looked unhappy at the sideline in the Week 6 Monday game against the Los Angeles Chargers at the SoFi Stadium. The 29-year-old was underutilized in the game and gained eight yards on three carries.

Gordon, playing his former team Chargers, was expected to get a lot of carries after Javonte Williams was out with a torn ACL. However, coach Nathaniel Hackett benched him and had Latavius Murray take the majority of snaps. The 32-year-old, rostered by 14% of Yahoo Fantasy managers, had 54 yards in 11 attempts.

The move by the Broncos suggests Gordon has been dropped to third-string on the team’s running back depth chart. He came to the game dealing with neck and rib injuries. He was listed as questionable.

“Melvin Gordon was good enough to steal touches from Javonte Williams but not good enough to play ahead of Latavius Murray?” a Twitter user slammed the Denver Broncos.

“Having my fantasy football outcome in Melvin Gordon’s hands is not ideal,” a second one said.

“The Broncos being obsessed with using Melvin Gordon when they had Javonte Williams only to be obsessed with not using Melvin Gordon after Williams was hurt is so on brand,” a third one tweeted.

One more problem with Melvin Gordon is his tendency to fumble. He came into the game with four fumbles against his name, which is the most this season. His, during the Broncos’ Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks, cost the team a potential touchdown.
