The Los Angeles Chargers will face Kansas City Chiefs in their second game of the 2022 NFL season in week 2 at Arrowhead Stadium. Justin Herbert is the starting quarterback for Los Angeles Chargers while Kansas City Chiefs have deployed Patrick Mahomes as the first-choice quarterback.

The Chargers beat the Las Vegas Raiders, whereas the Chiefs registered a huge 44-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Herbert completed 26 passes out of 34 in 279 yards and registered three touchdown passes in week 1. He also made four carries against the Raiders. On the other hand, Mahomes was also an instrumental part of the Chiefs’ victory over the Cardinals as he completed 30 out of 39 passes in 360 yards and registered five touchdown passes and one fumble.

Herbert and Mahomes will face each other in week 2 of the 2022 NFL season and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Herbert has completed 865 passes in 1,301 attempts for 9,629 yards in his career, along with 72 touchdowns and 25 interceptions. Meanwhile, Mahomes has 1,580 pass completions in 2,384 attempts for 19,351 yards in his career. The Chiefs’ quarterback has also registered 156 touchdowns and 37 interceptions till now.

It seems like while Mahomes has a more attacking mind than Herbert, the latter has a more defensive work rate than the former. Herbert is regarded widely for his throwing arm and said that he has been thinking about the Chargers-Raiders rematch for quite some time.

“I know personally, I’ve been thinking about this one for the past six or seven months, however long it’s been. I know that everyone else has as well,” he told Associated Press recently.

Mahomes has started the NFL season well and will be one of the biggest threats against the Chargers. He was the most frequently blitzed quarterback in the opening week and will be looking forward to replicating his performance in week 2.
