Grevin Paris

Answer- Musee d’Orsay

Musée d’Orsay is a museum in Paris that is located on the Seine river’s Left Back. The museum houses a number of French artworks of the period ranging from 1848 to 1914. The institution has on display a number of paintings from the Impressionistic as well as post-Impressionistic eras by renowned artists like Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Paul Cézanne, and Vincent Van Gogh.

Besides paintings, a number of iconic sculptures are also housed by the Musée d’Orsay. Some examples include Nature Unveiling Herself Before Science by Louis-Ernest Barrias and The Gates of Hell by Auguste Rodin.

Right at the entrance to the museum’s nave, the miniature Statue of Liberty is placed on a pedestal. The statue initially stood at the Luxembourg Garden, but the museum authorities had for long been stating that its rightful place was within the Musée d’Orsay halls.

The sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, Auguste Bartholdi, had himself commissioned the miniature version, which is 1/16th the height of the original. It was first publicly showcased at the Universal Exhibition in 1900. From 1906 to 2011 it found itself in the Luxembourg Garden since there was not enough space to exhibit it within the Luxembourg Museum, which was the first museum in France to be opened up to the public.
