Options:

Sourav Ganguly

Virender Sehwag

Gautam Gambhir

Harbhajan Singh

Answer- Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI, was set to captain the Indian Maharajahs side against the World Giants side for the Legends League Cricket (LLC) match. However, the former India captain decided to pull out of the tournament due to his other professional commitments.

In the statement that he released, the former cricketer said, “It’s [Legends League Cricket] a wonderful idea of bringing retired cricketers back on the cricket field and engaging with fans across generations. However, due to my professional commitments and continuous work with cricket administration, I will not be able to participate in this game”.

The proceeds from the September 16 match were donated to the Khushii Foundation, a charitable organization run by another former India captain, Kapil Dev

Ganguly has played 113 Test matches, scoring 7212 runs at an average of 42.17. In ODIs, he amassed 11,363 in his career, scoring 22 centuries in the process. Under his captaincy, India reached the final of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup against all odds, but could not surmount the challenge posed by Ricky Ponting-led Australia in the final.
