BBC presenter Huw Edwards has been trending for all the wrong reasons for a few days now and the latest controversy for which his name again went viral on Twitter involved an alleged on-air slip-up by another presenter from the broadcaster, Victoria Derbyshire.

In the video, which went viral, Derbyshire apparently is seen addressing the BBC presenter scandal while referencing an article from The Sun. That is when the alleged slip-up happens.

Here is the video:

“I’ll be honest with you right now. We don’t know if the claims from the mother of the young person who accused the famous name of paying thousands of pounds to her child in exchange for sexual photos are true. Because we, journalists who work at the BBC, haven’t seen any of the evidence The Sun says it has. And we don’t know if the new claims tonight from lawyers representing the young individual, rubbishing what the mum has said, are true either. BBC does not know the identity of that person and has not spoken directly to them,” she is heard saying in the video.

As she continued speaking, that is when the alleged slip-up is heard. “We do know that the BBC is in the middle of another crisis and big questions are being asked again about who — who knew what, when, and why the corporation is on the back foot. What has it learned from previous crises?” she said.

Since the first name of Huw Edwards is also pronounced as “who,” a number of people alleged that Derbyshire accidentally slipped up during her segment and revealed who the suspended BBC presenter was who reportedly paid over $44,000 to a teen to obtain explicit photos.

However, it is important to note that the presenter against whom the allegations have been made has not been officially named by BBC or any other news publication and all the social media chatter is just baseless speculation.

Edwards also deleted his Instagram account on Monday after an AI-generated explicit photo of him was circulated on social media.
