Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn gained popularity in Season 4, playing Eddie Munson, the metal music lover, whose performance of Master of Puppets in the pivotal scene during the finale became much talked about.

Now, Netflix has shared a clip where the British actor meets the band.

The streamer tweeted the video, captioning it “this is for Eddie”, a tip of the hat to the character’s line before he performs the “most metal concert” ever in the Upside Down. Munson’s performance is intended to distract bats in the alternate dimension and allow the gang to take down Vecna, the big bad.

The character dedicates it to Chrissy, the cheerleader Vecna had killed in Munson’s trailer, forcing him to go on the run as a murder suspect.

After the scene’s popularity shot up, Metallica began associating more strongly with Stranger Things. Bassist Rob Trujillo, whose son played the riffs for the Stranger Things version, was seen sporting a Hellfire Club tee. This is a reference to the Dungeons and Dragons group Munson presided over at Hawkins High.

The band also showed appreciation for the way the song was used, saying “The way the Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include ‘Master of Puppets’ in the show but to have such a pivotal scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away.”

They’d also put up a clip playing the song, next to a video where Munson belts out his version.

Most recently, they played Master of Puppets at the Lollapalooza, where the screens behind showed clips from Munson’s scene in Stranger Things.

Unfortunately, the scene that made the song famous results in a sequence of events where Munson puts his life on the line to lead the bats away, eventually dying in the process.
