Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team in the white-ball formats, has just released a poster of what initially appears to be a poster of a film or TV series. Soon other celebrities like Rashmika Mandanna, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, and Tamil actor Karthi also began sharing similar photographs starring themselves. Each post mentions that there will be a trailer of sorts out on September 4:

It was former India captain Sourav Ganguly’s post that apparently gives away what Mega Blockbuster actually is. Ganguly, in his post, had initally tagged an account called “meesho”, which suggests that this can be an ad campaign with the e-retail platform. However, since then, Ganguly has gone on to delete the same from his post.

Ganguly, on September 9, 2021, had announced on Twitter that a biopic was being made on his life. He expressed his excitement with the venture, writing that he is “Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen”. Luv Ranjan has earlier directed films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety:
Since the announcement of the film, there has not been any update regarding who will portray the legendary left-handed batter in the film. Names like Siddharth Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal have been doing the rounds on social media.

Sharma is currently busy with the Indian squad at the Asia Cup 2022. India have won their first two matches against Pakistan and Hong Kong, making their way into the Super Four. Sharma’s personal performance in the tournament has not been impressive yet. Although he managed to become the leading run-getter in T20I in the match against Pakistan, he has scored 12 and 36 in the two matches.
