One of the most anticipated clashes of the AFC West ended with the Kansas City Chiefs scripting a comeback win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. The Chargers led in the majority of the game against the Chiefs but ended up losing with a score of 27-24 at Arrowhead Stadium. 

The game marked the beginning of new era in the NFL as the league’s partnership with Amazon Prime Video started on Thursday night. The match was attended by Amazon founder Jeff Bezoz, accompanied by his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell

The 26-year-old was sensational in the game as he led the Chiefs with 2 touchdowns and ended the game with 24 completed passes out of 35 attempts and 235 passing yards. Mahomes had a net rating of 106.2 for the game.

2) Mike Williams (Los Angeles Chargers)

Chargers’ wide-receiver Mike Williams achieved a unique record in this game. He became the second visiting player to claim more than 100 touchdowns at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night. He ended the game with 8 receptions for 113 yards and 1 touchdown.

3) Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles Chargers)

The running back had a steady second game of the season. He carried the balls 14 times of 39 yards and was pivotal in the Chargers having a great offense in the first half. 

4) Justin Herbert ( Los Angeles Chargers)

Herbert completed 33 of 48 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing one interception. He was also sacked twice and hit eight times.

The Kansas City Chiefs lived up to their name in the second half of the game as they restricted their opponents to just seven points in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs were ranked eight in the defensive rankings last season. An interception in the beginning of the fourth quarter by Chiefs rookie Jalen Watson helped the team to get their first lead of the game as the player ran for 99-yards to score the touchdown.

The Chiefs visit the Indianapolis Colts next week, September 25 while the Chargers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Sofi Stadium on the same day.
