New England Patriots QB Mac Jones returns to the team for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain injury in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens. Bailey Zappe who started in place of Jones will return to the bench.

On the other hand, Sunday’s games Week 7 saw a string of injuries to top players, including Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was ruled out mid-game with a concussion, and Jets running back Breece Hall, who has a suspected ACL injury. 

DK Metcalf of the Seahawks also suffered a knee injury against the Los Angeles Chargers. In the same match, Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams injured his ankle. 

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill too has an injured ankle. WR Alan Lazard of the Packers injured a shoulder and Browns Tight End David Njjoku his left foot.

In good news for fantasy owners, quarterbacks Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailia are back from injuries, as is the Colts’ star running back Jonathan Taylor.  

Here’s an injury report for top players in Week 7 of NFL 2022:

Quarterbacks:

Ryan Tannehill

Tannehill injured his right ankle in the fourth quarter of the Tennessee Titans 19-10 win over the Colts and was seen leaving the field after the game in a walking boot. He has said he hopes to play next week. 

Russell Wilson: Out

Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos did not play Week 7 vs the New York Jets. he has a hamstring injury; an MRI which revealed a Grade 2 tear. 

Tua Tagovailoa: Healthy

After sitting out two weeks, Miami Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa started in the Week 7 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tagovailoa suffered a head injury in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills.  

Dak Prescott: Healthy

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott returned to play against the Detroit Lions after missing the past six weeks due to a thumb injury.

Lamar Jackson: Healthy

Lamar Jackson, who had limited practice during the week with a hip injury, played against the Cleveland Browns.

Aaron Rodgers: Healthy

Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers skipped practice on Wednesday. The quarterback also missed practice earlier this season due to a right thumb injury, but he still played the game. He was cleared on Friday and will play against the Washington Commanders in Week 7.

Jameis Winston: Questionable

Jameis Winston, the starting quarterback for the Saints, took part in a limited capacity in the team’s practice on Wednesday as they got ready for their game against the Arizona Cardinals. Despite playing again after a back injury, the starting quarterback will be a game-time decision on Sunday

Kenny Pickett: Healthy

Kenny Pickett participated fully in practice on Wednesday. He was cleared out of the concussion protocol on Friday and will start the game against the Miami Dolphins this week.

Carson Wentz: Out

Ron Rivera, the head coach of the Washington Commanders, has already stated that Taylor Heinicke would start as quarterback for his team. Wentz is now battling with a fractured ring finger that he sustained on Thursday during the Commanders’ Week 6 game. Given that Wentz is anticipating a four-week recuperation period based on the information from the surgeon performing the procedure, Washington might put him on injured reserve.

Mac Jones: In

Mac Jones will return to the starting line up for the first time since Week 3. He suffered a high ankle sprain against Baltimore Ravens. With his return, Bailey Zappe goes to the bench.

Baker Mayfield: Out

Baker Mayfield will not start as quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, according to interim head coach Steve Wilks, who made the announcement on Wednesday.  

Andy Dalton – In

The quarterback suffered a back injury in Week 6 and was limited earlier this week. However, he has been reported to be available against the Cardinals in Week 7.

Running backs:

Breece Hall – Out

Breece Hall, Wide Receiver with the New York Jets, was carted away after he sustained an injury during the match against Denver Broncos on Sunday night.

Chuba Hubbard – Out

Chuba Hubbard, the Carolina Panthers running back who started the game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been injured. Hubbard left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and he has been placed on the questionable list.  

Jonathan Taylor: Questionable

Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts is showing encouraging signs this week after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. His limited involvement in Wednesday practice suggests that he is on pace to play, as the Colts gear up to face the Titans in Week 7. 

Saquon Barkley: Questionable

Running back Saquon Barkley (shoulder) was a limited participant due to a shoulder problem. However, according to head coach Brian Daboll, the running back is experiencing no major issues with his shoulder. He can therefore be expected to play in the New York Giants game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

James Conner: Questionable

Arizona Cardinals’ RB Conner was listed as a non-participant in practice on Wednesday, but his official status is questionable. Coach Kliff Kingsbury said James Conner is a game-time decision ahead of Thursday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Darrel Williams – Out

The Arizona Cardinals running back has a knee injury that he recently picked up, which has ruled him out of Week 7 game against the Saints.

Kevin Harris – Out

The New England Patriots running back has been put on the inactives list by his side and will not be playing against the Chicago Bears in Week 7.

Ty Montgomery – Out

The New England Patriots running back had limited practice ahead of his team’s Week 7 game against the Chicago Bears. He has been put on the inactives list for the game by the Patriots.

Wide Receivers:

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Questionable

Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions, recently back from an injury, suffered a concussion in the first quarter of the game vs the Dallas Cowboys and was ruled out of the rest of the game.

Mike Williams: Out

Williams of the Los Angeles Chargers injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Jarvis Landry: Out

Landry did not practice in any capacity this week. The WR has been ruled out ahead of Thursday’s game against the Cardinals

Ceedee Lamb: Questionable

Dallas CowboysCeeDee Lamb was limited in practice due to a hip ailment. Lamb caught five of his 10 targets for 68 receiving yards and added two rushes for nine yards in Sunday’s 26-17 loss to the Eagles.

D’Andre Swift: Questionable

D’Andre Swift was limited in practice after missing the past two games due to ankle and shoulder problems. The WR did not practice in those weeks and was back after the Week 6 bye. 

Tyler Lockett: Healthy 

Due to a hamstring injury, wideout Tyler Lockett was absent from Seattle Seahawks‘s practice on Wednesday. In Week 6’s game against the Cardinals, Lockett caught two catches for a total of 17 yards.

Julio Jones: Questionable

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were without Julio Jones at practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury.

Rashod Bateman: Healthy

Rashod Bateman returned to practice for the Baltimore Ravens on a limited basis on Wednesday. He had not practiced since suffering a sprained foot against the Buffalo Bills.

J.K. Dobbins: Questionable

Dobbins did not participate in Baltimore Ravens‘ practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury

Randall Cobb: Out

Randall Cobb did not practice in the team’s practice session ahead of their clash with the Commanders, due to an ankle problem. 

Keenan Allen: Questionable

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen was limited in practice due to a hamstring injury

Kadarius Toney: Questionable

Toney again did not practice for the Giants on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

Marvin Jones: Questionable

Jaguars’ Marvin Jones was limited in capacity in the team’s practice session on Wednesday. He did not play in the Week 6 loss against the Indianapolis Colts.

Marquise Brown: Out

According to some reports, Cardinals WR Marquise Brown will miss as many as six weeks due to a foot injury he sustained in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks.

Nico Collins: Questionable

The Houston Texans wide receiver suffered a groin injury against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. He was taken to the locker room and is questionable to return to the game. 

Kendrick Bourne – Out

The New England Patriots wide receiver was put on the inactives list after suffering a toe injury earlier this season. He will not be playing against the Chicago Bears in Week 7.

Byron Pringle – Out

The Chicago Bears backup wide receiver suffered a calf injury earlier this season and has been put on the inactives list for Week 7.

Tight Ends:

Gerald Everett: Questionable

Gerald Everett was held out of practice due to an illness. In the Week 6 victory over the Denver Broncos, Everett grabbed five of seven targets for a total of 29 yards.

Pat Freiermuth: Questionable

Steelers’ TE Pat Freiermuth should be able to play against the Dolphins on Sunday after clearing concussion procedures. In Week 5, Freiermuth last played in the Week 5 loss against the Bills.

Adam Trautman – Out

The Saints tight end suffered a sprained ankle in Week 6 and will not be playing against the Cardinals in Week 7.

DK Metcalf – Out

DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks suffered a knee injury in the game against Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. He has been ruled out for the rest of the game and further updates on his injury are awaited. 

Kickers:

Matt Prater: Questionable

Matt Prater already missed Week 6 due to a hip injury. He is listed as questionable ahead of the Cardinals’ clash with the Saints.

Dustin Hopkins: Out

According to reports, kicker Dustin Hopkins will likely miss Week 7 with a hamstring injury.

Cornerbacks

Marshon Lattimore – Out

The New Orleans Saints cornerback has an abdomen injury and will not be playing in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.
