Amazon Quiz: In IPL 2023, who will replace Mayank Agarwal as the Punjab Kings Captain?

Options:

Ishan Kishan

Hardik Pandya

Shikhar Dhawan

Andre Russell

Answer- Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan, a seasoned Indian opener, has been named the new captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. In the 2023 season of the lucrative league, Dhawan, who is not currently a member of the Indian T20 World Cup team, will take the place of opener Mayank Agarwal as the franchise’s skipper.

Dhawan scored 460 runs for Punjab Kings in 14 games during his IPL 2022 season. Dhawan, one of the best left-handed batsmen in limited-over cricket, has represented the Indian cricket team in 161 ODIs and 68 T20 Internationals. Dhawan has scored the second-most runs in IPL history. In 162 IPL games, the former DC opener has scored 5,881 runs. Additionally, Dhawan has hit the most fours (701 total) in the lucrative league. The forthcoming ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on November 25, will be captained by the 36-year-old.

As Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have been granted a break from the entire tour, Shikhar Dhawan will be taking over as captain for the next One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. Hardik Pandya captained the Indian side in the T20I series, which the Men in Blue won 1-0.

Regarding his upcoming stints as captain, Dhawan said to ESPN Cricinfo, “I don’t feel any fear about losing the job. (Just because) I’m the captain, I don’t want to put that load on myself, saying ‘Okay, I have to do it this way or that way.’ I will just play the game based on our team goals, based on what the team demands, what it needs”.
