With Elizabeth Debicki taking over the role of Princess Diana from Emma Corrin in season 5 of The Crown, we will also see a swap in role of Queen Elizabeth ll which was played by Olivia Colman in season 3 and 4. For season 5 and also for the final season (6), Imelda Staunton will play Queen Elizabeth ll.

The news of Staunton joining The Crown for season 5 and 6 was announced by the official Twitter handle of The Crown, %u201CImelda Staunton will play Queen Elizabeth II in the fifth and final season of The Crown.%u201D

Staunton will become the third actress to have worn the crown in the series. Previously, role of the young Queen was played by Claire Foy in seasons 1 and 2 followed by Olivia Colman in season 3 and 4.
