Recently released movie The Gray Man was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who are also known widely for their superhero movies such as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War.
Popularly known as the Russo brothers, Anthony was born on February 3, 1970, whereas his younger brother, Joe was born on July 18, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Russo Brothers, apart from being noteworthy directors, have worked as producers and screenplay writers for several films.
The duo broke into limelight when they directed four Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies — Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). These films were highly successful in the box offices around the world and had attained somewhat legendary reputations by fans of different nationalities.
Among these four films, Endgame collected over $2.798 billion worldwide, which made it one of the highest grossing movies of all-time. This also helped the Russo Brothers to become the second-most commercially successful directors in the history of films, only behind legendary director Steven Spielberg.
Their latest venture, The Gray Man, was written by Joe Russo, whereas directed by both of the brothers. It was released on popular OTT platform Netflix on July 22, 2022, following its limited release a week before. Since its release, The Gray Man also became the most-watched film in 84 countries around the world.
The Russo brothers are also currently in the post production phase of Extraction 2, starring popular Australian actor Chris Hemsworth. Joe Russo has written the screenplay for the film, while he is also co-producer of the movie with Anthony Russo and Chris Hemsworth.
Apart from The Gray Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, the Russo brothers are also known for their work in Extraction, Mosul, 21 Bridges and popular TV series The Simpsons.
